engine bay tidy up

Featured Replies

My engine bay is currently standard, and looks a bit boring so im looking to spruce it up a bit. Ive seen a lot of people have silicone pipes etc in certain places, but im not actually sure what they are, so I don't know what to buy. So basically, what have you got in your engine bay that makes it look a lot better? Pictures would be a bonus.

thanks.

I thought WD40 would in the long run make it worse? Doesn't this stuff attract dust?

I just use it lightly then wipe with a rag. I dont do it often though. But its handy for stopping stuff going rusty.

only as im a tight **&*& and I never bother to buy products thats will only get used once in while. I seem to always have wd40 easy to hand lol

I use silicone spray on mine!

I think Tom or Joe have the smartest engine bays on here.

It's a work in progress :)

Sorry to hijack but are those metal braided hoses you have dark_hero, some of my rubber ones have been catching and rubbing through slightly and have been wanting to find some aftermarket stuff.

Steam cleaner works a treat

Yes they are metal braided hoses :)

May I ask where you got them?

Was it a kit or did you cut them all to size yourself?

What more you got to do dark hero

I got them made up by a mate, but it was all cut to size. I'll see if I can get a link for you

any links where you got the braided hoses from?

Ebay has a few, and from another post i think they are 8mm inner diameter.

Do you just drain whatever diesel is in the pipes to change them?

Do you have to bleed air out of system after or anything?

Yep just drain any diesel or coolant that's in the pipes. I posted a link to an ebay seller.

I have been having some problems with my heater recently, may be unrelated, but could mean I need to bleed the system or have an airlock. Unsure of how to solve it though :/

But no problem with fuel lines, my heater has been wierd recently too.

seems to either be too hot or not really doong anything.

No problems with fuel lines at all. I've had them over a year now.

That's exactly what my heater's been doing and after a while it just goes cold
