Who is the best for a remap for a mk2 fabia vrs

Probably best dealing with someone near to you to do the Job.

If you mean whos Remap,  maybe APR or Shark & totally give REVO a miss.

PS

i remember your engine was using Oil, is all that resolved,

& is your car now out of Warranty?

This Info from REVO is useful whoever you are going to to get a Remap doing.

& best have the Spark Plugs Changed or at least checked before having the new Map Installed.

Will defo stay away from revo. Ye, it had a new engine in and iv done 10k miles now on my new engine and all is good. It's out of warranty in August lol

I wouldn't touch shark after seeing how mine was mapped by them. After having Shark, Jabbasport and APR on my Fabia I'd say go for the latter all day long. Id go REVO before shark as well

Everybody has a different opinion based on what they've used and the experience they've had. I had an APR map, the map was very good but when I really needed APR's help with a problem directly related to the map, I can only report a tale of disappointment.

As per my sig, I am running Stage I from APR and the map is excellent, everything I could have hoped for and really transformed the car.  Map switching is an utter bonus and I have never had an issue accidentally activating the anti-theft as John had (just for balance I have not read or heard of much happening too similar to J0hn's experience with APR but have on the 1.4tsi read plenty where up to Stage II they are as good as anyone with far less reported issues than Revo)

Be aware that you will need to fill up at least on 98RON fuel or better if possible.  This cuts your garage selection down to Shell VPower and Tesco Momentum in most areas.  Regular oil checks and spark plug changes are part of the deal two.  Personally I found my car benefitted from a quality air intake like the ITG Maxogen to really get the most out of the Stage I.

I have contact APR and the results on my car (circa 215BHP) are based on the original "Full Fat Map" and as long as your car is well looked after and running at it's best this should be a realistic target providing good spark plugs, 99 RON and an intake.  The quirks of this engine are well document and some leave factory up on power, others will not hit the same heights without presenting an issue, so if the APR agent feels that the car isn't doing everything it should when they do the logs etc then they will apply a slightly lower tune stage I (circa 200bhp to be expected) these are the figures now advertised on their website so as to not dissapoint customers hoping to gain a full 35bhp.  Check the difference between this map and the one on Awesome GTI's website.

I am hoping to get costs on a custom exhaust this month and then will be returning to Awesome GTI to have my map tweaked to Stage II.  Something which APR incidentally don't charge for, you only need to cover Awesome's labour for the ECU out again.  Which by the way was a very tidy job when they did it first time.

I as you can tell, would endorse getting APR on your motor

I didn't accidentally activate the anti theft, the sequence is far too complicated to do this by accident, and the EMCS system wouldn't accept the security code to deactivate anti-theft.

My issue was never really about the map going wrong, it was more about the lack of support from APR. Furthermore it seems there is a lack of parity in pricing throughout APR's dealer network in the UK that either APR don't know about or have addressed.

That said, they write very good maps. They very rarely go wrong and the results are good. I read more horror stories about Revo than APR when I was making my decision and is fair to say I was an APR fanboy. Given the choice between APR, Revo and an unknown independent (who could be getting there generic stage 1 from a Jack of all mapping trades, as was my Motech map), then I'd still go APR first time, every time. As it was, I've now got the support of a good, well respected tuner - at a fee of course.

No intention of getting the details wrong J0hn so apologies have read your thread and yes I should have been clearer and don't want to see this thread derailed either.  As I read it you did have a bad experience no question and it should be taken into account by anyone looking at a map full stop!  I also know you went to AKS and I've had the fortune to deal with Alex on a group buy who is a top guy and has been involved with other members Fabia vRS' and I have sent other forum members his way who have also had very good experiences.

Main point I was trying to express was, although not good, the type of experience you had with APR seems to be far less frequent than say the issues created by overly aggressive REVO software on this Twincharged engine which is a very particular little beast. So although I rate AKS and Alex I personally would not fancy the Revo map for this engine (might be a totally different story for other VAG lumps) albeit I would expect great support from AKS.

I had a revo map on kine qnd it felt fine, other than a small dip between the supercharger shutting off an the turbo coming in

Il try and find my dyno graph

I can't disagree with any of that.

I think my experience with APR was the exception to the rule, I still think their maps are excellent, and remain my #1 choice for stage 1. It's just a shame my experience ended how it did really.
