Bought New Wheels!

Featured Replies

I'm hopefully picking up a set of BBS CH 18" with Dunlop sp9000 tomorrow. got a great price so I just had to have them :rolleyes:The wheels

They are at the moment chromed(as on the pic) but one of the rims are quite badly scraped so it will have to be fixed. At the same time I'm going to have all 4 rims repainted all in another colour. Probably anthracite or gunmetal. Think it will look good on a silver RS. Willl post pics when they are fitted on the car.

Welcome to the BBS club! ;)

Nice wheels m8 -- although I was happy to be rid of my Dunlops - found them to be quite harsh /noisey,although must admit they did grip well.

Are you going to leave the outer rim shiny ?

Hmmm, I hope they are less noisy than my Continentals I have on now. I'll have wait until I know how much the repair and and paintjob will cost. With outer rim I suppose you mean the part of the rim closest to the TYRE(not wheel)? Right? Thats what looks like crap on one of the wheels. But hey, I have all winter to fix them up :D

Nice wheels Christian! You've got to keep them chrome dude!

Ignore Q's remark about chrome, Christian - he has no taste. Chrome went out of fashion in the 60s, along with sideburns, kipper ties and flared trousers.

No, No, No - has to be DARK chrome!! ;)

BBS CH, the ones I wanted for mine. They are a lovely wheel. As for the 9000s, not a bad tyre although in common with most German tyres they loose all grip once below about 3-4mm, something to do with that being the min tread depth in Germany IIRC. I had the 9090s on mine and quite liked them even though I don't like directional tyres on FWD cars.

Sideburns, kipper ties and flares are out of fashion? :(

Yes, unfortunately they have. Also, the chrome paint are much more sensitive than std paint.

Sorry, no chrome wheels for me. Altough, they do look quite good, but as said earlier the paint is too sensitive.

Hmmm, the chrome paint is already coming off. I'll fit them on friday anyway and have them on 'till winter and then have them repainted.
