Hi all,

After an interesting drive home! i discovered this:

What ever i hit removed my sidewall!

I need a pair of new boots for the car! My spare i have just discovered is pants! The one that went, had 6/7mm tread and was a continental premium contact 2 £178 each. I have Contis all round but i bought with them, I cant afford them sadly, would have loved to keep all the same. But, I only have £200 for a pair, can anyone recommend some decent tyres for that price!

Cheers,

Paddy

Not going to get involved in the tyre debacle that will follow, and dont know prices.

I will say ---- OUCH! that doesnt look like it was fun at all!

always feel ****e when a decent tyre gets Fubar-ed.

you were running on a flat tyre, that's all...that's why the side wall is gone

It went pop though only about 1/2 mile firm home. Any ideas on tyres?

Rainsport 3?

Got avon zz3s on my vrs. I like them but its each to thier own on tyres i think! Around 130 for the pair off camskill website. A lot of other tyres on there for good money too!

I have the rainsport 3s allround and to be honest, take what people say with a little pinch of salt.

They're bloody good for the price and much better than anything for the same price (mine were €84 (£69) each fitted) but they are not quite up to the performance of some others. if you are on a slight budget though they are a brilliant mix of performance and value and exceptional in standing water. To me they lack a little bit on all out grip in the corners.

Goodride tyres all round, 4 for £180 inc fitting. Makes driving in the wet much more interesting!!

try

I found them cheaper than any other

Falken 452's are my favourite, just stay away from Kuhmo's, from experience they wear really quickly

Got cheapo primewell pz900 on mine and are some of the best tyres ive had, despite been £110 for two. Rated B in wet conditions

imo you should get that wheel balance checked once the old rubber is off, and before the new rubber goes on

You don't want to find you've buckled the wheel after fitting new tyres
