Leave the car as it was supposed to look.

Hmm think I may have forgotten that rule on my latest project..lol

I like keep it standard, don't see the point of modding. Rather like Des in that respect.

Spot on Mr. T

BTW do you know of anyone selling a GT30......for a friend of course.

im in the modding camp and prefer custom styling. i want my car to be my car not just a car thats been mass produced and sold for penuts (i drive a felicia) dont get me wrong im not a fan of big kits 20" chrome alloys (just 17's and a new rear bumper) at the moment ive just striped a wreck for its dash, the plan is to totally smooth all the interior plastic out and then paint , 1 off thats as individual as me! and something to be proud of! Ive done this by myself kind of thing! sorry rant over i think theres a point somewhere!

I voted 'non-modding', as that's what I started out as when I purchased the car ;)

The 'mods' done so far are pretty basic, or are for additional safety/control. Must admit I am likely to do a fair bit more, in time, as & when money & insurance policy allows.

Some take modding to a new level, like Devonutopia for example, and I must say I admire that level of dedication.

Modding suspension/brakes in any shape or form is something I would only do if I felt sure safety wouldnt be impacted. So getting it fitted by a proper mechanic(ally minded person with experience) rather than myself would be a definite. Several of the peeps here seem to be able to do that type of work themselves as well which is cool too

As for cosmetic mods - I havent bothered much with that, ever, although removal of the vRS badge might count :P - on that side of things, it's each to their own. It's nice when a car stands out in some way if that's what you want, or if it doesnt stand out at all, ditto :)

Nice to read some background on this though, thread is more interesting than originally anticipated :D

This thread is weird - does anyone else notice it seems to keep bumping itself up to the top somehow?

It's when someone votes, even if they don't post.

Jason, I'll donate my medal to Des, he deserves it more than I do :D

if it ain't broke then make it faster!!!

:D :D :D

tbh when i got my skoda i wanted an S4 avant' date=' but if i had bought that i would have messed about with it :o

and i'm the same as some others, i want to have fun but not get noticed when going slow. thats why my car look like it does :)[/quote']

i also choose the mod road, my audi a4 avant looked a bit like an S4 many couldnt tell the difference which i was happy with so it had looks and performance.

as for my skoda, in hope of cheaper insuranced for a couple of years i went for all show and no go but i'm for subtle mods, my octavia just looks like a modded vrs but nothing major, bodykits are a big no-no unless meant for the car (e.g. vrs bumpers nothing "aftermarket") most cars that have been modded beyond recognition just look ****.

Subtle mods!

I agree 100% subtle mods

I've just joined the modding camp!

I've changed from a green Magic Tree to a gel foot what seems to smell of vanilla

Reckon I've gained an extra 3bhp over magic tree!

I reckon by christmas I'll break the magic 80BHP!!!

I've gone for modding, although I'm new here and I haven't even started modding yet.

I intend on changing my 14" alloys (that just look TOO small) for 15's

or 16's with a slightly wider tyre and lower profile cornering will be less like being in

a small boat at sea and lets face it they will look better.

I wouldn't mind tinting the windows either. TBH the list of things I'd like too do has grown

since I started reading these forums!
