Toyosport decat fitted and now EML on! Suggestions please?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, had a my Toyosport decat fitted at weekend in preperation for stage 1 revo remap at the end of the month, but noticed the engine management light is now on! Is this common? Will the the remap sort this issue out? Thanks

Depends if your going to get your second lambda probe mapped out,

If not then light will stay on, you could try a spacer on probe but it might not work

As said, just ask to get it mapped out.

Either that...remove the bulb/stick tape on it!

as Volvomeg said, it needs a lamda delete. If your car's already got a stage 1 on it then speak to your tuner and ask him how much to do it

I'll ask about that when I take it in next week for the map then, thanks guys.

Let us know how the map goes ;)

I had my second probe mapped out when shark did my stage one map altho i've ended up with a sports cat rather than total decat now

Am I right in thinking though I can't get the second lamba sensor deleted out as it a stage one generic revo map?

Yes I think your correct...

Stage 2 they are mapped out on a revo code.

Well my old LCR it was, using revo stage 2.

Why don't you get a custom map...

Who's mapping it?

Yes I believe so, REVO are pretty regimental with there maps, They certainly would not entertain mapping out SAI,N249 and N112 deletes for me, which is why I moved to Shark,  as REVO need to move ahead with the times

I would of thought that you could fit a spacer/angled connector on the decat to not have the sensor direct into flow.

something like this

Custom map for that on a stage 1- treat yourself, get it done properly with a custom with some dyno runs. It's a great way to spend an afternoon

I've got a similar spacer to that and no EML on since fitting

Different engines different warnings. I've decatted 9 or 10 cars half threw a light, half didn't. The pain is if you're driving a newer one which goes into the limp mode when the depollution system is throwing alarms and you;re forever clearing the fault from the ECU to get out of limp mode

Bowders1 I've bought. That spacer so I'll see how that works out! Thanks for the info. Though. Everybody!

Good job, you should be good to go with that.

I have the 3" 2 piece Toyo Sports decat fitted to mine and did not get a cell. As mentioned some do some don't.

TIP, soak exhaust downpipe bolts will WD40 few hours before you start as they will be well on there.

just fitted spacer to mine

Bit of news guys, tryed to book in for my remap today, I was quite shocked to find out that they sounded like there going to refuse to do the revo stage one map because I've had a decat fitted and that's not in the revo stage 1 spec. He said that the car wouldn't be 100% from leaving the garage with the EML and fault codes! I'm glad he's been a genuine seller but also disappointed.

I could go to stage 2 as I've got a toyosports fimic to fit at a later date, but I just didn't want to fork out for a turbo back exhaust just yet! Urgh!!

my spacer was fitted and im still getting light might just get it mapped out
