Clutch Question

Featured Replies

Just a quickie,

With getting the first sign of clutch slip is it important to get a flywheel as well as the clutch itself?

Just wondered if only changing the clutch would work to keep the costs down.

If I need both I have seen this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-1-9TDI-1-9-TDI-RS-SACHS-DMF-CARBON-KEVLAR-CLUTCH-CSC-/360841339844?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AFabia%7CCars+Type%3A1.9+TDI+RS&hash=item5403d1e3c4

Thoughts would be appreciated.

It will keep down costs if you do the flywheel as well and saves you taking the box out again.

Have a look on CarParts4Less, it's around £80 cheaper for the same off there.

Good luck!

Absolutely do not buy that techniclutch crap.

As said, a genuine NEW Sachs DMF, pressure plate, friction plate and CSC can be had from carparts4less for around £305.

Thats very cheap. My car is at 92k so would expect a bit of slippage I suppose. My remap is only 170bhp and 270ft so nothing to aggressive. That should cope fine
