2 different manifolds.! :-@

Featured Replies

Dropped my sump today, blew all oil lines out, cleaned pick up  ect ect.... buttoned that back up and moved onto turbo change..

What a **** of a job when you haven't done one before!!! :-o

Anyway, gets it all back on, go to bolt turbo to manifold (3 bolts from top)... only to find on my manifold all 3 are same size  No problem you say??... wrong!

The replacement turbo has different size bolt threads! 2 on the back larger than the one on the front.!

And found I couldn't use fatter bolts as they wouldn't fit through the holes on my manifold grrrrhh!!!!!!

Just got back from Rotherham where I picked up the matching manifold for the turbo... all Is now good

Wish I'd known there were 2 slightly different manifolds yesterday ffs

And yes. It's def a ko3s turbo. Crack on tomorrow now

Different motors use different exhaust housing chassis' on the turbo's. IF you take a picture of the stud pattern on the turbo exhuast housing and on the manifold you should be able to get an adapter for it but it's all down to the shape and pattern. It's usually better to buy a new manifold depending on the space down there. Problem will be finding the exhaust housing chassis pattern- if you know what it came off then it should make life easier-. Here's some adapters- http://www.himni-racing.com/turbo-flanges-adapters/turbo-exhaust-adapters

Very strange never seen this

What car was turbo and manni off ??

First time ive heard of it. Maybe the donor turbo has been a replacement in its past and bolts had to be drilled out?

Ko3s turbo came off an ibiza the turbo threads have not been drilled it because I now have the matching manifold an  the rear 2 holes are def bigger....

New one on me but on the manifold from my car, the bolt  needed for the new turbo wouldn't fit through the holes in manifold haha

It's all done now and goes like the clappers :-D

I find its the front one that comes loose on me.! Because the rear 2 a docket can be used.. the front one is designed by a Muppet.!! And only a spanner can be used
