I fully appreciate your situation WRT money but I can't help thinking that if you intend to do any more track days you would benefit from the 312's. Stave has reduced his price to

Wouldn't go down the drilled disc route and these have been known to crack...grooved are more than sufficient.

I have EBC grooved discs and they are good.

Pads...haven't heard a good thing yet about the Greenstuff pads.

Check out our promotion with Pagid. If you can get em for the Furby would highly recommend the Ferrodo DS2500....check with Dave Poole at Demon Tweeks or apparently Badger Bill.

I've defended the Greenstuff pads on many occasions! I well impressed with them.

I am also running EBC Turbo Groove discs, but unfortunatly I to am from the 312 brigade...

I agree with stu, save a little more and go with that chaps 312's at

Hmm.

I know when I originally picked my fabia up which already had the four pots fitted, it had some EBC brakes. Can't remember whether they were green or red.

However, after the braking enthusiastically for a 3rd roundabout, they just didn't stop the car anymore  Have to say, I get the impression EBC pads work better on drilled/grooved discs, as mine were "standard" 323mm discs. Now, I've changed just the pads for DS2500. Yes they cost about

You're joking, right? The Greenstuff's I ran on my Scooby left deposits all over my (indestructible) Godspeed grooved and cross-drilled discs which led to them warping! Also churned out brake dust and lasted less than 7k miles of normal driving. Stopping was ok with the Greenstuffs but much better with the DS2500's that replaced them. Maybe the Greenstuffs would work best with the EBC discs which are meant to be very good, but at a couple of hundred quid to try it, I'd personally save up for the 312's and go with the DS2500's :D

Have they changed the compound of the greens yet? I know the reds have been change and from what I've heard are much better.

For me its DS2500 and EBC oem 312mm discs.

Maybe another option would be to source some calipers of a standard 288mm setup octavia,golf,a3,leon to replace the oem fabia caliper. That way you have many options of brake pads you can use and just use OEM discs.

Yes, you can get 312mm ferodo DS2500 pads. I got mine for furby mark1 through a group buy, via IP IIRC Cost about

Sorry, Chris, I didn't mean to offend your discs :P

It's just from my experience with the brembos, they were shockingly poor and that was with "standard" non drilled/grooved 323mm discs.

And to be fair, I do recall the previous owner saying he preferred standard discs to fancy ones too - the fancy ones did crack / warp ;)

LOL! What I was trying to say was that the discs were immaterial, the Greenstuffs were shocking even with drilled and grooved discs ;)

The replacement discs were fine with the DS2500's. Pads stopped much better, lasted longer and didn't leave any deposits on the discs - well worth the extra few quid imho :D

What about Mintex 1144 or 1155's ?

What about Mintex 1144 or 1155's ?

Mintex 1144's are the fast road pads. Heard good things about their stopping ability, but they are noisy (they squeal!) and they produce quite a bit of brake dust! :D

I assume the 1155's are trace-style pads?
