Osram bulbs

Featured Replies

I don't think that there is much of a difference in light output between silver star and night breaker. It may be something else like contact problem or badly aimed light, that is on issue here.

Hi everyone,

I'm picking up a citigo elegance 75 with asg this Friday.

I have HIDs on my outlander so I'm worried the headlights/side lights won't be great on the standard fit bulbs on the citigo.

The above sound light good sound investments.

Need a little economic car to get to work.

What a great forum this is.

If changing, get the Osram Night breaker Plus - THe MTech turned out to be terrible... lasted less than 6 months on average.

I have NBs in my Octy for 18 months still perfect and WWAaaaaayyy better than standard Octy.

Tbh though, the standard bulb in the Citigo isnt actually that bad.

Welcome to the Club :D

Cheers Mac for the reply and welcome.

I understand it's H4s for the full and dipped beams - is it worth replacing both?

Does the citigo have separate bulbs for DRLs and Side lights or are they the same?

Would the elegance include led lights for any of these?

Kind regards

It's an H4 for dipped/main

The DRL/sidelight are the same bulb

The Elegance has exactly the same set up and no LED,s.

Thanks Stormchaser,

I read just after I posted that the H4 was dual filiment....what a numpty I am!

So far I've read on this forum that the Mtecs were the best option for the DRLs - or it there a better option?

Thanks you.

I wouldn't use MTEC bulbs. I've been through so many of them. They only last a few months. A waste of money.

I've gone back to standard now.

I went through 2 sets of MTECs before I gave up and decided to try the LEDs sold by HIDS. Absolutely zero problems, very bright, no warnings etc, very good bulbs. More expensive initially but this is a case of buy cheap, buy again every 2 months!

Hi HMCK001,

Could you tell us which bulbs you purchased? Im interested as these LED's have 50,000 hour plus bulb life - if only you could get headlights that lasted that long!

They look good. I've ordered a set of nightbreakers just now. Will try them over the weekend and then consider the DRLs, then the indicators.

I would like to led the reversing lights next I think as it is dark where I live and I didn't order the car with parking sensors....

I pick up tomorrow - new elegance asg in candy white - my first little car since I was in my twenties - Arh miss my old corolla GTI.

I was lucky they had one at the port with a spare wheel...looking forward to that new car smell...

Swapped over the headlight bulbs to night breakers now. Even in daylight they are white - great stuff.

The DRLs look orange in comparison. Might have to think about swapping those for LEDs.

Really pleased with the car.
