Osram bulbs

Featured Replies

I need some help.... I fitted some osram bulbs a few months ago and I can't remember what I have fitted. Is there anyway of telling what I have fit???

Im assuming you have a bulb out and want a replacement to match?

Can you remove one and it may say it around the base of the bulb?

Probably they are Nightbreakers

Just get a new pair, and save the one that works for a spare

Not got a bulb out. I'm looking for a brighter osram as my current ones seem dim. I've had them in for a while but been doing more night driving and the brightness just seems poor. My light beam is perfect as that's been checked. Just don't want to buy the same ones.

I know it's been covered before but what's the most popular Oxfam bulb??? I have been looking at silverstar (don't quote me) and nightbreakers but can't make my mind up.

I've got silverstars in the Citigo and I find them excellent. I think that the Nightbreakers are the replacement for the silverstars.

I know it's been covered before but what's the most popular Oxfam bulb???

Haha gotta love predictive text :D

Get some MTEC's instead.

Cheaper and people seem to rate them

Ooops.... Should read what I put lol...

Might buy a set of MTECs and see what they are like. Once summer comes I won't be needing my lights on as much so not wanting to spend fortunes.

Thanks for the help :)

No worries Ash

And just a side note... its a bit vain to like your own posts :D

Oh.... So that's what the tick does.... I hate posting on here from my phone as I make simple mistakes lol

To know what bulbs you have got, just stand in front of the car and look at the headlight bulb and you will see some letters and numbers printed on them. Write it down and go to google and write down those letters and numbers along with the word headlight bulb, and you will get the name and the maker of the bulb. I remember clearly that just before I test drove a VW Up last year, I looked at the headlight and could see Osram Bilux printed on the collar. Easily visible from the out side. Isn't that remarkable. Your next bulb should be Osram Night Breaker (not Mtec). They are far brighter and will last longer than mtec.

Osram nightbreaker plus with gold plated tip upto 110% brighter and 40mtrs further light

£15 a pair off ebay

Cheers. Going to see what I already have and see what is better. But cheers for the heads up

Hey Crazyash88, your tagline under your posts says:

Black Skoda Citigo 5dr Elegance 60bhp

Mods Inc:-

MTEC Sidelight bulbs, Osram Silvervison bulb, stubby mast, Silver Bonnet, Roof & Tailgate Stripes, Magnetic LED Boot light, Briskoda forum sticker, spare wheel.

...??

Haha nice one Allicia.

Never even noticed that!

Oh.... Now I look like an idiot lol... Forgot it was there.

Well that stops me from having to get dirty and popping a bulb out.

Ha ha!

No offence but, as my husband is constantly reminding me, men have an inability to see what's right in front of their noses...in my house it's called a 'man look' :giggle:

Not quite! There is no such thing as Osram silver vision. There is Philips silver vision which is a silver coated indicator bulb and then there is a Osram silver star H4 head light bulb. Why don't you just look at the headlight bulb from the outside of the car and read what it says on the bulb collar and we all can be relieved of that prolonged suspense that is killing us!

Had a look at my bulb... it says OSRAM 64193 SVS which I beleive is Silverstar according to OSRAM website...

Might have a try at nightbreakers to see if they is mcuh difference

Yes, they are supposed to be really good the Nightbreakers

The Nightbreakers are very good but not that much better than Silverstars, having used both.

Are they similarly priced?

Silverstars are cheaper

Well, I suppose it comes down to preference, if they are both similar performance.

Im still running standards at the minute

I've got Nightbreakers and they are loads better than the originals and nice and white - look great with the MTEC DRL's.  I can't say how much better than the Silverstars they are though

I do think I would go for the Nightbreakers myself

Nightbreakers are great but I'm sure my headlights are too low.
