Not leather, just heated seats and heated washer nozzles ... or the winter pack as I have seen it referred too.

  • You need a 3rd option. Keep the TDi order but when it arrives have it mapped or get a DTUK tuning box! TSi like performance then but with £30 annual road tax, 45-50mpg and stronger residual values co

  • I was in the same predicament when i ordered mine early december, i do around 12k a year, mostly for business use and have diesels for the last 4 years. So i was fully geared for another solely think

  • There are no DPF issues with CR engine, I've do 5 miles each way to work everyday and in winter the engine never upto temp and I've never even had the DPF light come in once.

Correct

Just had a look at the online brochure and at the bottom of the options it stated heated windscreen available on tsi vrs when ordered in conjunction with heated leather seats which according to the prices is a £600 option.

Misread the brochure please disregard previous post

Its on the options on the configurator ...

Edit . just had confirmation from the dealer order as listed accepted, Might be an idea for you to phone SUK if you really want it oct 2014 ...

Hi , Took a look at the configurator and you are correct it come up when you spec the tsi engine however try ordering it and it pops up with a message asking you to remove it !! So i phoned SUK who confirmed that the option of a heated screen was not a option with the TSI engine. They took my number and even phoned me back later in day to confirm this was the case as they wanted to make sure.

The reason being the alternator loadings on the TSI being less than the TDI. They explined you can have heated seats ( with or without leather) and heated front nozzles but not the screen. The winter pack is not a option on the Tsi engined cars.

I was hoping it was not the case but there you go.   Really hope you manage get it on your car as you had it already on the spec as a Diesel it may get overlooked and you may end up with a heated screen on the TSI.

I managed to order it on my car, early december, dealer hasn't told me they had rejected it.

/fingers crossed however

I hope you get it . good luck

It does seem a bit strange that some people can't get the order accepted and others can though.

Do You really believe they have different batch of alternators for the UK TSI's? Here in Poland we can have heated windscreen with the TSI. I'm guessing the alternator is already more powerful due to start-stop system.

Its nothing to do with swapping ... I reconfigured the car from scratch on the UK configurator and it takes it fine.

I asked the dealer to confirm the car order has been accepted and it has .... TBH If it was an alternator load issue, they could drop the forced heated seats .... must be better to see were you are going than have a warm bum :)
