A new Fabia VRs???

Featured Replies

I have heard on the grapevine that Skoda are planning to bring out a new Fabia Vrs with a 175bhp diesel, and also a Rallye version with the 1.8T from the Audi TT.

These sound great  - but can any confirm if they are true?

i doubt there will be a 1.8T version as i'm sure i read on here that the 20vt lump doesnt meet new emissions regs or something like that.

unless they are going to use the spares audi dont want. also saying the lump from the TT... which one? the 180 TT lump currently resides in the octy vRS.

No .

There isnt a 175 bhp powerplant to give it. There is a 170 bhp version of the new 2.0 TDI but theres no chance in hell that it will ever make it to this version of the Fabia (or to be fair, probably any version of the fabia in the future too).

I'm surprised the diesel Octy vRS is going to be so low powered (for what it is), VW have a 240bhp 2.0tdi and have had for some time (in a caddy van).

You'd think they'd get that into production and put the 170 into the Furby - make it a clio competitor.

120bhp/litre from a diesel, in a VAN

are you sure?

i thought the most powerful caddy van was 90bhp, i deal with a lot of car stats at work.

I feel a rental coming on :D

It wouldnt suprise me if there was a powerful van out there ;)

There used to be a bloke with a cosworth transit.

I think a more powerful 1.9 diesel engine and 1.8t is not far fetched idea as the same engines are used in the ibiza already (pd160 cupra, & 1.8t FR).. It's quite definitely sure however that the new 2l engines won't be on this platform anytime soon..

btw, is the van some sort of concept model, any more info about it? I thought you couldn't currently get even 200bhp from 2.0 tdi since the injectors are limiting factor.. anyhow the new injectors from the 170bhp model should change that..

yep local guy up here lives in motherwell area.runs in the area of 400bhp

GOOD LORD ! what next a Porker engine in VW camper vans

the engine Bedrock Veedubs(scottish jabbasport dealer) are putting in their Caddy is going to be something else! serious power im lead to believe

Theres quite a few Cossie Transits.

The Van is the Volkswagen Racing Caddy Van. VW have been campaigning a van in the VW Cup series for a few years now. Sponsored by Superchips who are behind the engine re-map. Do a google search, VW have a website dedicated to their one make racing series.

As for the 1.8t making into the Furby - this is a possibility still, as VW are claiming they are going to put the 1.8t in their forthcoming Polo GTI.....
