potential roomster owner

Featured Replies

Morning all. Thinking of buying a used roomster particularly the 1.6 diesel and I have a couple of questions. Firstly I gather it doesn't come with a spare wheel, unlike earlier models. Is there still a space for it in the boot? or has the space been used for something else. Do you still get the jack on roomsters that don't have the spare wheel?

Secondly how many litres of oil needed for an oil change? Any particular oil recommended? or is anything ok as long as it meets the spec?

thanks in advance for any advice.

The spare wheel is an option, there is space for it which is filled with the compressor and bottle of gunk to repair punctures, if you are lucky! There is no jack, however you can buy a spare and toolkit, including the jack from the dealer for about £140.

The 1.6 diesel has a 4.3 litre oil capacity. You need oil of the correct spec, VW 507 00 for the diesel. I use castrol edge, but others are available, there are frequently good offers on oil. Suggest you try to get the dealer to throw in the spare and some oil as part of the deal, good luck with your purchase.

You can download the owners manual if you want more detail.

Source your spare from this forum assuming one comes up for sale. Buy your jack and toolkit from skodaparts.com. I bought a Jack, toolkit and foam insert from them for my Touran (same part number as an Octavia Scout) for about £40
