Engine Management light

Featured Replies

Evening everyone.

Tonight I had a few issues with my fabia vrs. Driving along and the car cut out followed by the engine management light. Did it again after I started her back up. Steering went heavy etc so I pulled over and left it a few minutes. Attempted to start it again but it only turned over. Rang breakdown cover, and during my wait I tried it again, started up, drove it home (only a short distance)with no issues bar the engine management light still being on.

Breakdown guy did all his checks, master reset to see if he could get rid of the engine management light but still no luck. Took the car for a test drive, drove perfectly. So it's going into a garage tomorrow to get a diagnostics check as I'm not risking my 120 mile round journey to work encase it happens again.

The car is completely standard engine wise, Full recent service included cambelt with a full service history.

So my question is, what could this be? a faulty sensor? Just one of those moments that cars tend to have from time to time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a massive pain in the ball sack.

Thanks,

Ben

Could it be the ect sensor at fault?

EGR valve getting blanked off, turns out the manifold section where the egr valve is is caked in carbon crap.

Need a new fuel pump relay too.

Luckily nothing too serious.

Seems as though the fuel relay hasn't made a difference. Apparently more wiring is to blame. Any ideas anyone?

the code for the pump relay is P1524 if that helps
