JUST ORDERED FABIA VRS

Featured Replies

Hi i was lucky that i have not got to wait up to 18 weeks for new fabia estate vrs as my dealer found one although i wanted a blue one i had to settle for white or i could have had a silver one.

The spec is what i wanted with rear park sen and armrest with extra cost alloys but the dealer has let me have the armrest and mats for free.

Could as said waited but i saw a white version and liked it.

Congrats! Did u get a good deal?

Good discount and extended warranty package I hope.

Good luck with the new wheels ..any pics?

Welcome to the club. You won't be disappointed:)

forgot to ask with the turbo vrs do you have to let the engine run after a long run for lube purpose.

I would say that this is good practise with any Turbo-charged vehicle, only for a few minutes instead of turning it straight off.

Re turbo cool down.

The Turbo is working above 2400 revs in conjunction with the Supercharger

& above 3500 revs on its on,

If you are thrashing it, and then stopping you may want to let it run a bit but it really is not necessary.

In normal UK type driving at national speed limits and a bit above, apart from when booting it and accelerating the Turbo is not much operating above 4,000 rpm.

Good Radiator fans and oil cooler fans, and Turbos are not really an issue with the Twinchargers, its not some Old Type turbo on an oil burner,

or even a highly stressed item on the 1390 cc petrol engine.

I don't mean to sound harsh in any way but - please tell me you didn't pay full list with just armrest and mats for free?! That equates to a discount of just £140.....

If that's the case I'd push for way more ££££ off :-)

the vRS actually has an electric pump that keeps pumping cooling to the turbo if you turn it off hot, If I've been thrashing it home, and drive gently the mile or so through the village home, I can still often here the pump continuing to cool the turbo after turn off :)

Yup, I've noticed this too, also use the run down to our village as cooldown :D

Still park up and the engine is roasty toasty, have come back to it over an hour later with plans to clean the engine bay and you could still cook bacon in there.

sorry guys the white one i cancelled and opted for a steel grey estate that was already at the port felixstowe i think do all skodas come through that port?

Not all, some come through Hull I think, depends on where the car is heading for whether it comes in at a north port or south port.

Maybe yours will get the updated steering wheel and gear knob I noticed on a new one at the dealership on Monday - the new style wheel and gear knob now also has a vRS logo on them - looks very nice actually. That and a little square button on the rear wiper (to detach the blade?) were the only differences I could see to mine (reg May '13) - I didn't know they would change the wheel and knob again!

Got these bits on mine, nice touches that give you that subtle reminder that you are driving something a little more special.

Think I have seen them at Immingham on the South side of the Humber where much of the VAT cars come in.
