Clutch cost at VW

Featured Replies

Cars in VW getting a flywheel put on under warranty but the clutch isn't covered unfortunately they said they will fit a clutch for £227. So is that a good price for the clutch obviously I'm not paying any labour as there doing flywheel.

Cheers mat

It's absolutely top price for a clutch, however it will be an OE part.

What is the model of the car, at that price maybe worth asking them if there are any options to improve on the standard OE part, not sure if they will since the car is still under the warranty, but then again if the clutch is not covered by the warranty then surly it would be your decision if you wanted a better clutch, and as for the price yea I second the motion that £227 is an absolute bargain, but it does suggest  a budget price for a budget part, and since you are getting the benefit of free fitting, may well be worth taking advantage of the money your saving and requesting a more high end quality product, and its seems there is no doubt at that price they are simply covering the cost of the clutch alone so can't see why they would object if you wanted to pay a little extra for a better one.

Vw aren't going to fit aftermarket parts

They will refuse!

Just go for it £227 for a genuine clutch and flywheel you can't really complain can you

lol I guess you maybe right but still would be no harm in asking, if thats what you wanted at least cos you never know, but I have to admit if meant loosing out on the free fitting I would not have to think twice about reverting back to the 227 option

Yeah thought it was a good price but just wanted to check. Suppose I can't go wrong for £227 for a brand new genuine VW flywheel and clutch.
