VRS target price?

Featured Replies

Hi

Im new here and just about to order a VRS TDI Hatch which comes in at £25700 with options.

There will offer me £1500 part ex for my car in june when the expected delivery date is which I am happy with.

I am buying this car on the PCP scheme

Bearing in mind the long wait for the VRS model what sort of discounts could I expected to push for?

As it's not 0% finance aim for 7% discount. A lot of us on here got 5% .

You will probably need a written quote from else where to get them to match/try.  I suggest carwow.co.uk and get quotes that way.

I've just placed an order from a Skoda main dealer in the North of England for a VRS TDI hatch in candy white. Only cost options were black pack and sunset glass but I managed to negotiate a discount of 8.5% along with a strong p/x price on my current car, taking Skoda PCP finance. So 7% should be more than achievable!

Not promoting this site other than it got me good prices with which I took around the local dealers and said "will you match that" but, I used carwow.co.uk, one dealer finally did price match getting me 8.65% off an Elegance with the 0% on a PCP. Remember, it'll take a day or so for you to get all the offers in, I changed my spec a couple of times too, just keep getting offers coming in.

Hope it helps.

I too used carwow and a pcp deal - have a close friend who is a salesman in another dealer and he was many thousand away from the price I achieved using the site. Only one of the 5 decent replies I got would honor the PCP though, but a great site and glad I registered!

In my experience Arnold Clark Skoda have been the cheapest (by far) compared to other dealers.

Although I don't know where the nearest one to you would be.

Broadspeed does the same and brokers an intro to official Skoda dealer. They are showing 10% discount for VRS.

Cheers

Steve

Used car wow to obtain a target price that was approx 6% discount (inc 0% PCP) then got my local dealer to match it

Thanks I've had a look at suggested sites and now have some prices to haggle with.

From information posted on here, it seems that there's about a 12% profit margin under normal circumstances, so that's the upper limit of any discount you'll get.

When the 0% PCP offer was on, Skoda clawed back 6% from the dealer so that halved any discount you might hope to get.

Now that the 0% has finished on the VRS then I assume the bigger discounts are back.

Occasionally people have done better than the figures above (I did ) if a dealer is just short of hitting their monthly or quarterly target.

Also worth noting that the discount figures often qouted are a % figure if the entire price but in reality many aspects of the price to the dealer cannot be discounted.

For example the delivery charges levied by skoda is fixed, as is the 1st registration fee and tax. So the discount is actually greater than calculated if you follow me.

I think IIRC, quotas are monthly and targets/discounts are by the quarter either way, you'll probably stand a better chance of getting a bigger discount at the end of month and possible even bigger end of quarter. No use right now if you're in a hurry but, food for thought, last two or three days before the end of quarter you'll find out next quarters deals. I order on the 28th Dec hence, I knew the out going deals were better than the in coming ones.

Hope it helps.

Another one for car wow for pricing at least, my local dealer struggled to believe the price let alone match it.

My petrol Vrs hatch came it at around 8% discount with the 0% and 3 year service offer, no Px.

This was an end of year (Dec 30th) purchase.

Alex Lawrie no doubt

I paid 24 when the RRP was 25 on a vrs tdi hatch with options. Ordered New Year's Eve, so had 3 years free servicing n 0% finance, reasonable deal I think

Hi Guys! I just joined, with the aim of asking this exact question. The Mrs has a Min One D and we need something bigger for her, but still keeps me satisfied (see my daily to understand why!)...

We have test driven everything under the Sun and the VRS TDI Estate DSG with most option boxes ticked fits us perfectly for cost/practicality etc. The equivalent BMW 320d Touring is 10K more for example!

So am heading to the stealers today - will be aiming for 8% of the £31k list the car comes to including options! Will let you know how I get on :)

I used Carwow as well on a Candy white VRS TDi hatch with only option of cruise (Total £23440 OTR). Alex Lawrie came in at £1422 discount (OTR). Went to Lightcliffe in Warrington for a test drive and handed them the offer and asked them to price match which after a couple of days they did. I said you have matched it now beat it. They asked what I wanted and said chuck in the spare wheel kit which was accepted by them so in effect I got £1497 off plus as I ordered on 23rd Dec got 0% and the 3 years free servicing as well. Total paid will be £21943 or around 6.4% off OTR.

When I was looking at buying a VRS (before I decided to lease) my local dealer offered me £500 off a VRS TDI DSG and offered Black pack, Sunset Glass, Meteor Grey paint and Cruise control as free options, so pretty much a £1170 discount but that was first offer, I would imagine with to and froing from salesman to manager (Really dont see the point in this at all, let me speak to manager direct!) I would imagine you could easily get £1500+ off

On the 30th dec I ordered:

Octy vrs estate race blue manual 2litre

Full leather

Heated seats with winter pack

Black trim pack

Colour maxi trip

Posh sat nav with DVD player

Spare tyre

Tinted windows

Cruise control

Raised Boot floor mat

Used car wow to benchmark and shaked on £26k no part ex. Dealer expectation set of 6 month build time!!!!

Correct!

Ordered on the 28th November Race Blue TDI hatch with a few options total price of £25,200 with the new price increase. Got the dealer down to £22,285 a saving of nearly £3000 which is about a 11% discount . No trade in cash deal,  this offer would not have been available if I had taken the finance or servicing  very happy with deal just the six month wait now.
