I'll try and find em later got mine from maplins.

The SAI will need mapping out as the resistor stops it throwing a fault for the pump open circuit but not for the incorrect flow fault.

Hows your car running now after deletes?

No probs at all just need the SAI mapping out as it comes on after a couple of weeks saying incorrect flow. It's due to not detecting the extra air the SAI pump would normally push into the cat doesn't bother me remap due in a few months anyway.

i got similar looking resistors from Maplins as they could see the 330ohm ones. Mine are 470 which i'm hoping will be ok, any knowledge on this? Also how did you fit yours? Thanks

Dealer one cost me £32 so order this looks the same.

They are similar but not dealer quality i can tell you  as i ordered one and not yet fitted it but even so looks like it can do the job ok.

You may find the resistors will not fix the SAI delete  as it shows a flow error . Mine kept coming on after around 3 days. I ended up getting mine mapped out

I'll fit them and give them a go. Since I did my deletes my car runs rough on idle as though its going to stall. As I had to rush getting it back on the road, after the missus decided to drive into a kerb and damage the family car, I didn't install my resistors. I'm hoping that once I have them in place the car will be good again:-)

hmm resistors won't effect the running, so suggest you have another issue, like a air leak  , maybe a hose not connected or jubilee clip not tightened.

Is all this a worth while mod and what's the score then with mapping ??

Depends on weather you feel you have a smooth running car that works as it is

This is typically not a performance gain but a way of getting rid of a lot of clutter and mess from the engine bay that don't do much.

Also less likely to have future running issues with split hoses etc.

You could argue it becomes a performance gain if you  have been running with a split pipe or hose as you will then see a lot smoother running and pick up due  to correct boost now being possible. As the DV becomes mechanical rather than electrical the way the DV works a lot of folks including me feel the car pick up is better at low rev's.

As it does not cost a lot  (apart from  buying a SAI Blank and a few bypass hoses and resistors) if you DIY then a reasonable mod to do and is reversible.

Also does not effect mapping. Although if you get car mapped you can then get the deleted parts mapped out and won't need any resistors to fool ecu parts are still fitted.

Hi is this the same engine as the aum on the a3 1.8t. Would be a lot of help if anyone can help I bought the car as is and wanted to do the n249 bypass but realized all piped are cut of the n249 and the n112. I have no pipes going in to the sai ( sounds like a vacuum on morning start ups) and the egr valve is blanked off too?? Has previous owner already bypassed n249 and the n112?? Also there is a loose connected dangling down coming off the fuel rail near the 2nd cylinder from the left where is that supposed to go or is not needed as mods have been done in a way

You need to 100% make sure there is a resistor in the sai if removed even of mapped out as this effects fuel trim !!!

I've fitted all the resistors, am I right in thinking the only way to get rid of the SAI incorrect flow fault code is to have it mapped out?

Yes....

Some folks are lucky and get no cell but I did with resistors so got mapped out.

Start saving for a map then.

Chris how did you put your resistors in as they are quite big compared to the ones bowders has used. I have similar ones to you!??

I soldered 2 short pieces of wire to the resistors and crimped terminals to the wire to plug them into the wiring plugs.

Did you then wrap it all up in tape? Just ask as thw resistors are quite big!!??

Thanks

No didn't wrap the resistors as they might get hot but taped up wiring and cabled tied to the loom.

Sorry for late reply but thanks
