Breather pipe trauma and SAI,N249,N112 delete

Featured Replies

So carried out the above deletes and had it all going nicely until the plastic breather pipe broke off as I tried to remove it to clean the gunk out of it. 14m46rk.jpg

as you can see these breathers where well shot, so my advice when changing the breathers get yourself the plastic elbow as it will break. I wasn't been heavy handed I was just trying to remove it from the housing it was so brittle and just crumbled. The downer was it cost £32 from Skoda and had I not have been in a hurry I would have got it off eBay seen it at £12-£15 delivered.

On a positive note the deletes seemed to have smoothed the idle and sharpened the response especially in gear acceleration feels crisper. May be its the replaced hoses and less pipework but defo better. Will post some pics of improved engine bay pics soon.

I want to do this.... It's def on my to do list.! :-)

Dealer one cost me £32 so order this looks the same.

Any chance I can carry out these deletes one at a time? As in delete sai one day, drive the car, do n249 delete the next day etc??

Cheers

To be fair mate its dead easy to do them all at once have a look at Bowders guide in the tech section its a walk through.

You'll need some coolant, a SAI blanking plate, some silicone hose, 3 resistors, and lots of patience its a bit fiddly.   :hi:

Well manged a job on the octy today without breaking any thing. Finally fitted my draft/verdict shifter bushes job done and finished tidying up the delete pipe work removed the hard lines on the side if the cylinder head. The bushes seem good, more direct feel when shifting. Will post pics when I get home.

Yep read that through a few times so got an idea of what to do but just wondered, as my time is tight, could I do individual deletes whilst using the car in between or would this cause dramas??

Cheers

Could be done but as their kind of linked it would be easier to do them all together. SAI can be done on its own but the other 2 need to be done together.

Cheers for that. Glad you got yours sorted. Which silicone hosing did you use?

Cheers frenchieg I'm pleased with the cut out engine cover came out well.

Ha didn't even notice that it looked so standard :-D

  • 3 weeks later...

Started on the deletes. Just waiting for silicone hose to come. I have resistors but not sure they are the right ones. Do you have a part number for the ones you used please?

Cheers
