Good Priced Car Site for new buyers.

Featured Replies

I stumbled across this site yesterday and thought it may be of interest to anyone thinking about buying an Octavia (not just a vRS).

http://www.carfile.net/results.php?make=SKODA&model=OCTAVIA&bodytype=5&carid=

Seems to have some good prices and with the 0% apr now finished on the vRS may be useful to some.

I used Carwow.co.uk to get prices which I then used around my local dealers, you get both cash and PCP offers from each dealer.  I also liked that the prices were gross and not net like some sites, sorry I just wanna know the bottom line not the headlines.

Yes, it's who I bought my octavia through, could not fault the service I received. Very helpful and gave good discount at the time.

My deal beats these prices by approx. £1000 - but it hasn't arrived yet (14 reg) so better keep quiet till it does.

Carfile.com the bees knees.  £3,500 off, fixed up the sale of my Mk 11 Octy at the same price as local PE and got the car hauled from Nottingham to Cornwall included in price.  Well done Jonathan.

I used both CarFile and DriveThe Deal to bargain with my dealer to match the price and give me the best price I could get thought CarWow did give some interesting prices. I printed out quotes for the spec I wanted and showed them the price to which they then matched quite easily.

Interestingly also a Nottingham dealer as well.

Agreed I used carfile. I didn't get taken seriously by the dealers. When I simply said I want this car for your best cash price. Very easy to deal with and the supplying dealer was a dealership I had been quoted...

Excuse my ignorance, but if you purchase through any of these websites (Carfile, Drive the Deal etc), can you still get the zero percent, free servicing, & RAC cover (if available from the Dealerships at the time) as well as the web discounts ?

I ask because I bought my Octy 3 direct from the dealership, and although happy with the overall transaction ( and the car !) I always felt I should have haggled for a better deal.

Carfile literally put you in contact with the dealer. I was told that the discount wouldn't be so much if I was after the zero percent. But I was buying cash so it didn't affect me.

Iv just bought a fiesta through carwow, brilliant method of purchasing and you do everything through the chosen dealer not through another company, carwow simply just get you the cheapest price

No, simply put. They will give you the best price minus any of the offers.

I managed to get them to agree to the discount and then they also offered to give me a price for the 0%, free servicing and breakdown included. As it was in line with what I expected for 3 years of servicing plus the cost of the loan I'd need to obtain as I wasn't buying outright (might have been £100 more I think) but the less hassle seemed worth it.

Thanks for that Schodoodles ( !?), gives me food for thought over the next 2 years.

My carwow deal showed me both a cash price and a PCP price although, that was Q4 of 2013 the 3 years servicing/assure were just a standard part of the deal then, I then got a local dealer to price match for me so. I only used the best carwow price to get the best deal with the dealer I wanted.

Guys if you want the very best prices you go shopping when the sales are on, end of the quarter is when dealers are most keen to hit SUK targets are therefore, they may sell a car at break even or even a slight loss.  End of month is only of interest to salesmen trying to make their targets and therefore the discounts offered are not generally as good, a salesman always has to ask his boss to agree a deal but if the boss ie. dealership has a SUK target to hit there is a lot more at stake than just that car's profit.

I know you can't always wait for the end of quarter but, if you can, do.
