Clutch / flywheel ?

Featured Replies

HI

I have a fault and i am wondering if its early signs my flywheel or clutch are starting to fail ?

I was towing yesterday and i stopped as i heard a ticking noise from the engine bay which i think maybe gearbox area more likely, I could nt see musch wrong so i drove a about 200yds further and it made a graunching noise, I stopped and took the towed item off and pulled away and found the gears very tight and hard to get in gear, I left the the load behind and drove about 100 miles home and al seemed fine even the gear changes went back to fine !

I have had before a few time before i reverse the car back and the car gets locked in gear and the only way to to get it out of reverse is to switch the engine off the back on and its fine.

I am thinking the flywheel may have problems under load as i think it has a dmf ?

My car is a 2002 tdi estate Octavia with about 147k miles.

Thanks

Sounds like you need to set the gear linkage up. Plenty of how to videos on youtube.
