Bought my car from Arnold Clark and everything that has went wrong in the past 2 months since I got it has been a hassle to get sorted from they're incompetent mechanics/service department.

One of the problems was the Engine Management light coming on. Got my mechanic to check it before it went to them and it was the P2100 Throttle actuator control motor.

So they've took it in and the light went off and they told me they had fixed it.

That was about 3 weeks ago and it hadn't came back on again until tonight.

My 2 month warranty runs out on the 6th February. I read the fault with the torque app and it's the same p2100.

I've seen this post after doing a Google search http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?120620-A3-Throttle-actuator

I looked under my bonnet and can't see they set of fuses.

Could changing this fuse fix this or does it REALLY have to go back into the monkeys again several times to they switch it off again.

Or what exactly needs changed here to fix this and how much roughly would it set me back and I could possibly get it done with the mechanics I trust.

The car is a 2006 Vrs

you should bring it back and demand it is repaired immediately! say you aren't happy at them repeating what they did last time as the problem has reappeared. they might even extend the warranty to get this minor fault sorted.

I'm struggling a little to imagine where on a VRS there might be a "Throttle actuator control motor". Maybe I'm just thick?

I think it's the asv flap which is I believe electronic on the blt engine? correct please if wrong!

After many phone calls, shouting and threatening to send it back. They've agreed that they must fix it properly under the warranty and I've said I don't want it in the same garage it's been to the last 4 or 5 times. So they are collecting it and giving me a courtesy car and it's going to Arnold Clark skoda in Edinburgh.

The light has now went off, this is something that was happening before too.

Could this be something as silly as a dirty sensor.

It's a BLT engine if that makes any difference.

Thanks

Haven't ready the full thing but engine management lights can come and go all the time if a sensor is failing.

A common one is a sticky turbo, when driving the eml will come on but if you switch it off and back on the light will reset itself.
