Vrs anti roll bar (arb) help

Featured Replies

I have a lot of knocking coming from the front, had a look yesterday and noticed my anti roll bar has shifted quite a way to the near side and the link arm is catching on the intercooler hard pipe which runs in the wheel arch.

My question is, is this likely just to be arb bushes as ive read in some place may need a new arb!

Thanks in advance

Also anybody know if should be 19 21 or 23mm arb?

Standard you'll need 17 mm ones as it has a plastic collar that breaks.

Right, had another look and the arb it self is ok and hasnt shifted. The aftermarket link arms i had put on had long bolts so was that was why it was catching in the intercooler hard pipe.

My hacksaw wasnt upto cutting the bolt lengh down so ive used another nut on the other side to space it. All is ok now.

However for future ref, if my arb bushes do go and the plastic collars break, do i just fit 17mm arb bushes, but if collars ok then continue with 19mm?

No, smash the collars off anyway and fit the 17's. The collars are the bigger issue, since they corrode underneath and creak.

Ah right. Cool

Also, you might want to check your intercooler mounts. Are you sure it is sitting where it is supposed to?

Seem sturdy enough
