best aftermarket warranty for fabiavrs

Featured Replies

my vrs is nearly 3 years old and the warranty is about to run out. I have asked my dealer about a skoda extended  warranty and they have not even bothered getting back to me. So i am looking at a warranty direct or warranty wise. Anyone recommend either of them, looking ahead i would want cover for the gearbox, super charger and turbo and would not want them going and not being covered.

My dealer was the same so I just went to another dealer who couldn't have been more helpful.

I'm personally - perhaps unjustifiably - wary of Warranty Wise and Warranty Direct - you have to pay more just to get your car repaired at a Skoda dealership.

As Brian says Dealer Appathy, which is Strange, because there is Commission for the Person selling you the Skoda Extended Warranty.

1 or 2 years, with or without Assistance.

So another Dealer, or Call Skoda UK Customer Services, and they will get you details.

Brian and i bought Extended Warranties last Autumn.

2 Years £547,  1 year was £399.

I'd recommend the two-year warranty as it works out much cheaper - even if you sell / trade in / write off the car before the two years are up you get a pro rata return minus an admin. fee (about 35 quid).

thanks for the replies, will probably go for 2 years with assist I spoke to the skoda warranty company and they said about 5 to 6 weeks before the manufacturer warranty runs out i should get a letter from skoda asking if i want to extend the warranty. Warranty is not up till the end of May so i a bit of time to get something sorted

I took the Assist as well - it's £150 on its own or £100 on top of the warranty (for two years).

Agree. If you have RAC or GreenFlag or AA, you dont need the RoadSide Assistance which is outsourced to one of these three anyway. The commision is not a lot for the dealer, hence the apathy in returing your call. But get it from Skoda, not anywhere else. if oil consumption is an issue, you dont want too many middle men in the process.

I jsut bought a second vrs from a dealer and got the extended 2 yrs at under £500 less roadside.

warrenty wise is supposed to be one of the best (quentin Wilson?) they have been proven to replace faulty DSG boxes :) I have heard good things about warrenty direct too, IF you opt for their packages that INCLUDE wear and tear....

The Commission was enough for the member of staff that did mine to come back while off on their holidays,

and travel 40 miles of a round trip.

Great Service after others gave the run around and dis-interest.

Out of curiousity I obtained a Warranty Wise quote - worked out cheaper for one year and marginally dearer for two (in comparison to the extended warranty from the dealer). I need to unsubscribe from their emails as 'Quentin' emails me on a regular basis with offers :D .

On any issue I'd prefer to deal direct with the dealer - totally agree with your comment about "middle men" - one of the main reasons I'm put off by Warranty Wise and co.

If getting a quote from warranty direct don't put your phone number in, I got quote and they keep calling me at least 3 times a day. I have no intention of buying a warranty until last few weeks before needed which is not until the end of May , so why call me just now . This has put me off them and will probably go with skoda. Will the skoda warranty cover the DSG box, turbo, supercharger?

My VRS was 2 years old when i bought it from skoda and i added a 2 year extended warrenty to the car giving me 3 years. But before i decided on that warrenty i rung the company up and gave then various potential issues on expensive bits such as dsg turbo supercharger....pleaded to say all covered. But proof is in the pudding......

The Warranty is there to cover Major Mechanical Components. So Yes Engine and Gearbox.

Exclusions are in there, so your wear and tear and stuff and a Manual would probably Exclude a Clutch, that should not be the case with a DSG,

If the vehicle has had Issues, and Warranty Work such as an 'Oil Consumption test', and a Breather Mod,

then check,

just incase that is considered as a 'Known Issue',  then Skoda should be putting that all correct, and it should be a Resolved Issue.
