What's left of an RS5

Featured Replies

That is bad but why would you just leave it there. Does he not have any breakdown cover or anything like that!! I know i wouldn't just leave my car there but, then again, i wouldn't have risked driving it through the flood in the first place if i didn't know the depth of the water.

Car ins + Gap insurance = nice cheque coming his way if he gets away with not reporting it and they cover him for driving into the water.

Whoever took that front end off wasn't a vandal and knew what they were doing. You can pretty much guarantee it's already crossed the channel.

it's wierd, it's like it's be deliberately and skillfully cut up, probably by a body shop to repair an accident damaged one

I recon that was taken away and the remains brought back

Daresay you're right.

Tom - or to turn an A5 into an S5.

Got to remember there are still places in this world that don't have the DVLA/VIC Checks or insurance companies that need the full spec of the vehicle and an engineers report.

I've watched exporters cut some massive repair sections out of cars in scrap yards, stuff that most UK bodyshops wouldn't even consider repair-worthy, the one that sticks in my memory being half the roof, all the pillars, down to about a foot and a half of floor out of a people carrier.

We had a sales rep who had a golf gt32 or whatever it is. One night outside his house they sliced the front end off and took it in much the same way. Are the engines really worth that much?

Almost anything is worth stealing for a desperate thief and a night's work. Someone on here with a Fabia mk1 had their front bumper stolen!

Unfortunately the saying 'The'll steal anything that's not bolted down' doesn't ring true anymore.

topics merged, didn't realise it had been posted already

*cough* insurance job *cough*

Driver deserves a kick in the balls for getting stranded in the water.

There's been some looting in Somerset and affected areas of Devon.

Hmmmm.  Who has bought a Citigo recently?
