DMF problem?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have an Octavia 1Z 2.0 TDI with DSG.

Irregularly the rpm increases with 100-200 without me doing anything. Although I have the CC activated this happens.

From what I read around, it seems like it's a flywheel problem, but I can drive 1000 km's between each time this happens.

Another thing that also happens simultaneously with this is that the transmission is shifting up later than normal. When the rpm thing occur, it shifts up from from let's say 4th to 5th at about 2300 to 2500 rpm. And if it runs in let's say 4th and I put the transmission in Sport, it does not shift down to 3rd. It acts almost if it is in a "Sport light" mode :-P

As I said, this happens at irregular intervals, and I can drive sometimes 300-400 km's between this occuring and other times maybe 1000km's

Any clues on this?

Thanks :-)

Sounds like its doing dpf regens

I think Anddenton might be on to something.

What you describe certainly does not sound like a DMF problem.

Probably getting confused between DMF and DPF

DMF - Dual Mass Flywheel - part of the clutch used to reduce vibration in the transmission, when faulty results in drive judder.

DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter - usees higher revs at idle and injects more fuel under throttle every so often to generate heat to burn off carbon particles in exhaust filter

This makes more sense, than DMF. Thanks for the replies.
