Fabia 1.2 HTP classic engine management light/wheel questions

Featured Replies

Hi

I've been on here asking advice re upgrading my car from a Fabia to an estate or a Yeti. Low and behold I've decided to keep my Fabia 1.2 HTP it's a good little car!

Two questions:

My engine management light has remained on for a whole year - nothing is wrong with car my local garage has checked /plugged in under its service found nothing and then again when it remained on still nothing. Car runs perfectly no problems. Should I get this checked out by Skoda or leave it?

Also is it possible to replace current 14inch wheels and tyres to wider nicer looking and more robust for bad weather conditions?

Comments would be appreciated.

How old is the car? The light is probably a dodgey sensor or something, but id get it checked.

Regarding tyres. The 14inch are your best for winter conditions. Get some winter tyres in them and theyll be awesome.

In winter your better off with smaller, narrower tyres to cut through the snow etc, and winter tyres are more commonly available in your current size.

In the summer however, you could upgrade to the 195 55 r15 se wheels, or even the 205 40 r17 (i think thats right?) monte and vrs wheels. Ride will be compromised in the latter though.

Oh ans the elegance has 16 inch wheels. Not sure on the size though

205 by 45 R16 on the Elegance.

Wouldnt mind some elegance wheels on my se to be honest. Look nice and shouldnt compromise ride quality too much. Hmm
