Am I being stupid...

Featured Replies

But, every time I see an advert for a MK1 VRS, it says height/reach adjustment on the steering column. Now, as far as I can see, mine only has height adjustment, not reach. Did any ever have reach? I could get such a comfortable driving position if I had reach adjustment. :wonder:

Pull hard + you will discover it has got reach ;)

Chances are it hast been adjusted in a while..

(Don't forget to release the lever 1st)

+1 to this, just had it on my dad's Audi.

Definitely goes in and out, as well up and down. :D

Never, ever adjusted it in or out. Will try later though!

This is useful to know!

OMG (as a 15 year old girl would say,) I can't wait to try it!!!!! Im so excited, It annoys me as it is. Im off to Spa in April and if this works along with a seat that I don't fall out of when cornering hard, I will be over the moon. (or possibly over the kerbs, through the gravel and into the tyres.)

First thing I checked when I bought mine 4 years ago was the inny outy uppy downyness of it :D

Duh!

Mine turns left and right aswell.

Off out to try this now ;)

Be careful with the chaffing of your cables as some may move. I would do it steadily/slowly personally.

Sorry that comes across really nerdy ! But better safe than sorry, I'd rather have a non-adjusted working steering than electrics that suddenly fail through messing about with the wheel lol.

Sometimes you find a thread that really tickels you...

This is one of them :P

its yhe first thing I check for whenever I get in a car haha

I feel embarrassed now tbh.

Think I just assumed it hadn't got 'reach'.

On saying that, I'm quite happy with the position it's been in since I bought it.

Saying that. I only found out there are 2 sets of trips last weekhaha

:o

I adjust mine while driving tbh

Tried it, not overly impressed, pulled it out and down.

Sat back lifted it all the way back up and pushed it all the way back in :)

I have done mine. It has made me like my car a lot more.

+1 here for someone that didn't know the steering wheel had reach adjustment. Even tho I've owned the car for over 4 years.
