Activating DRL headlights in fog

Featured Replies

Hi, I have Skoda Superb II 2009 and I want to activate the daytime running lights (DRL)  in the fog lights. The problem is that when I activate them my rear and front parking lights turn on too. I am interested can I make it like to the older Octavia II? They are 2 types DRLs - ACC ON (works with all lights including parking lights). The other type is when the parking brake is up nothing lights up, and when you release it than only fog lights turns ON. Can be encoded like the second type just running the fog lights? The number of the light module is 1K0 937 086 A. Superb no additional section for DRL with fog lights!

As you have an early MkII Superb you don't have the dedicated DRL's in the fog light cluster.

This means that you either need to use the dipped headlights or the front fog lights at reduced intensity. Both of these options are available to select using VCDS.

Scandinavian mode: Dipped headlights, parking/side lights, rear tail lights and number plate lights on with the ignition.

North American mode: Dipped headlights only. On when the handbrake is released. off when the handbrake is on.

I know it is possible to replace the dipped headlights with the front fogs on the MkII Octavia, but I've never seen it done on the Superb.

Yes, I know that, I have VCDS 12.12 and in Long Coding there is no any bits for DRL (Scandinavia) active and DRL (North America). I want to make it to North America but I don't know how. That's why I'm asking here.
I want to activate the DRL of the fog lights in North American type.

Today I was thinking again over this problem and the only one place where I don't check was Byte 18. There are different settings for the different models, am I supposed to change it from there? I attache 2 pictures found on the Internet to see  what I am talking about. I don't remember how it was tuned to my car, I have to check.

Beware that your Byte 18 is hidden behind the mask of ’00’

So if you want / need to change it back to what it is now good luck... because your current code is hidden!
