Need Help on a 2007 VRS Diesel - Engine Fault: Workshop Help

Featured Replies

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am at my wits end with mechanics they are driving me mental................I have a 2007 VRS and at times it can get very laggy. Meaning the turbo might not kick in until 2200 now this doesnt happen often but it does happen. In the past 6 weeks it has thrown a 00665 Boost pressure regulation control range not reached. No i brought it to one mechanic and they said change the N75 Solenoid...I did and it threw the error again. I brought it to another mechanic and they were convinced there was a leak in a pipe and after I heard the "leak" they were talking about it was the blow off valve releaseing the back pressure from the turbo. So i brought it to the main dealer this morning and they have said it might be the actuator but they done numerous stress tests and it passed every time without failure.

When it does go into limp mode (done it twice in 5 weeks) and you turn it off and on it is 100% again. Now one thing i have noticed is that before or after it goes into this laggy mode it sits at about 1K rpm and i am nearly sure the DPF is regenerating......So the dealer has said to drive it until it happens again and bring it to them when it is actually happeneing.....Not sure how fesabile this is but i'll try my best to do that and also for a full tank of diesel I am getting about 600km until the light comes on which the dealer has told me the MAF sensor is fine also.....So i am going crazt here...........has anyone any ideas for me please folks.............

Had all the same symptoms you are on about on my07 PD170..

Now the list could end up being as long as your arm here, but when all mine started it was the G450 pressure sensor causing the initial problems and making the car do a regen all the bloody time!!! So I would say if you havent had this replaced start there as its prob on its way out anyway if its not already gone!!

Second, take off the EGR/Antishudder valve and clean that or get a bypass for the EGR and have it coded out, that seems to be another common one.

Third, and what finally seems to have sorted my car is to take the airbox off, disconnect the MAF sensor and clean it with Contact cleaner, whilst you are there replace the air filter as I should have known better, mine had never been replaced despite numerous full services at main dealers!!!

4th, check the pipe that connects to the intake, nice big black one coming up from the middle of the engine bay.. mine had part worked loose when i had the glow plug light come on.. refitted and all been fine since..

Worth checking too is get someone to sit in the car, start it up and gently rev the engine whilst you are shining a torch at the back of the engine where the turbo is.. you will see the actuator moving as the throttle increases and should set back to normal when the foot is off the gas.. should give you a good idea that the actuator is ok and therefore the VNTs in the turbo..

Check this thread and look where the EGR is and the pipe connecting to it.. run your finger around and if there is oil there its not fitted correctly.

Just colleced the car from the main skoda dealer and they performed numerous stress trsts to the actuator and turbo and it didnt fail once. They said the drove it and it was ok aswell. The error on the computer stated that the boost pressure regulator could not be reached. They assume I need a new turbo but cant be sure as it passed all tests. Im not really sure where to go from here tho. the

Googling this error will bring up hundreds of similar faults going back years for loads of people. My Golf has been doing exactly the same since last July. VW dealer doesn't have a clue. Makes my blood boil in this day and age. Had the boost pressure sensor recently replaced, no joy. Its going in for a new turbo Thursday. If that doesn't fix it...it's going for a float test. I'm pretty much done with turbocharged cars. It's a joke. Was told no one could do anything without a fault code. I get them one (pulled up outside dealers with the car still running) and STILL they haven't a clue. I'll be getting something normally aspirated next...a beemer or a Honda. Grrrrrrrrrrrr...!!!!

That used to happen to my vw golf anniversary I then found it would go into limp mode at 3k and just recently the turbo packed up So I sold it.

I went to look at a BMW at the weekend, the dealer was so **** and didnt even know if the car on the website was in their stock or not so I walked away, very un-polite sales staff as well calling me "MATE", im certainly not their f$%king mate after walking on the forecourt 2 mins ago... so as a result I wont be buying a BMW, may look at a Merc instead now!!
