Obviously if you were emotionally/romantically attached to said Turbot, I'd leave a couple of days for mourning before driving again.

I feel your pain tho mate... a few days after I got mine, my turbo went!! Wasn't a good start to ownership I can tell you. But I got one for 175 and been sorted since 

second hand turbos for the TDI are like £200 I think. You could even possibly upgrade to the turbo from the tdi 130 pd.

Ahem, you can't use a PD diesel turbo on a petrol!     I have a VGC K03S but there's currently a waiting list....

Don't know why I read it as a vRS.  Oops!    Fail on my part.

Its still running OK at the moment, but flipping into limp mode every now and then! Had it diagnosed at CAMCO in Warrington and I

came back (as in simple terms) turbo needs replacing?? I have had it cleaned about 8 months ago, so another kit clean seems a waste of money,

Do you regularly give the car an italian tune up? The actuator might be rusty and stick, the vanes may have jammed or your vac pipes might be damaged and causing a vac leak somewhere.
