Why not? The savings on parts, labour and curries should more than cover the cost of the trip. JMTPW.

This is it, savings. Just to give you an idea, here in dk we pay 180% tax on top of the actual price of the car. Car service / repair pretty much follow this scheme....   again, why nut just telling me, ' hey this dealer in czech seem reliable, he did a good job' Then we could have kept the thread down to a few posts...

I at least saved 60% on the trip, hotel and all costs included. Took me three days, had some friends with me.  of course I didn't just go there for a simple oil change.

Glad you're sorted with the service. That's me out of the discussion now.

Bye.

to the op im going to bite because i actually think he might still be serious...

how much is it to get it serviced in denmark

how much in czech

i understand the danish have a stupidly high basic rate which is why no one in their right mind would visit the place.

how much in fuel?

the czech isnt as cheap as it was 10 years ago so id be staggered to find out if you saved money.but then again maybe you did and hope you enjoy it

Wow. Car servicing in Denmark is expensive if it works out so much cheaper to drive to CZ for a service.

If this is the case then it's a no brainer as you get a little holiday too!

To the OP, I can highly recommend a Skoda dealership in Northern Germany. In fact on the way there, you'll pass what used to be the old customs house where the old Danish border used to be. I'm not sure how the prices would compare though.

The dealership is in Norderstedt on Ulzburgerstrasse.

Thanks a lot y'all. I did the service. Yes service here in DK is overpriced. Overpriced if I compare it to prices in Czech or maybe Germany. At least, the price I paid including petrol was lower than what it will cost in DK at a skoda dealer.

Still I would really like to have the option just to leave it for top service at an autorized skoda dealer.  But I'm left with a car mechanic who are not a specialized Skoda mechanic.

If I find the time, I might take the drive to CZ or Germany, for service or another little project I seem too dumb/lazy to sort out myself.
