Boost gauge....

Featured Replies

...Just installed my boost gauge but what excatly is it telling me?

ok i get the psi bit is the pressure in the turbo system right?

But what is the InHg reading? The neddle reads in this on idle and crusing and goes in the PSI reading what the accelerating and the turbo spools... but what is InHg reading telling me...

The PSI reading is 16psi sound about right from a remap car?

inHg = inches of mercury..its probably measuring vacuum rather than boost.?(not sure)

Correct. inHg is inches of mercury, and it's a unit of vacuum.

so what should the inHg value be? Is it important to know this?

I wouldn't worry its probably just indicating the inlet pressure as being a partial vacuum on part/low throttle. I would take more notice of the PSI (boost) values IIRC 16 seems to be a good ballpark figure but I'm sure someone can enlighten you on exact figs.

I get about 18/19psi once the engine has warmed up fully, lets have some pics mate! :D

so how come you get more psi then?

Haven't got a clue mate! lol :D
