Track rod end replacement

Featured Replies

Hi

I recently got my Octavia. I've got the old track rod end off and the new one on but cant find the torque setting for the nut under the ball joint anywhere.

Does anyone know the torque setting please?

Carl

Never seen anyone use a torque wrench when I've had my tracking done on all my cars.

Im sure someone will pop along soon and let you know.

According to Elsawin, both the track rod lock nut and the joint to knuckle securing nut torque is 50Nm

the trackrod lock nut is FT - Fecking Tight

trackrod>rack - If its a Nylock type then do them tight - 50mn isnt much at all, but not tight enough to spin it.
