Ordered Bosch aero twins as replacement wipers and a Polo 6R stubby aerial for the Fabia - arrived and fitted today :)

Aerial looks so much better, needed a small amount of trimming though as the thread was quite short!

Pics when it's sunny ;)

Hmm... private plate has been on the cards for ages and finally getting around to it - dilemma is which to choose?

Go for the 02 plate.

Already looking at getting it :)

Only reason for the 02 one is because someone already has the 07 one...

I know it's a bit old now, but any chance of some pics of the aerial? I have an SE and would like to see how it sits. Does it catch the spoiler when opening the boot at all lie the standard one?

What do you mean about trimming?

The thread on the new aerial is too short to grab the thread in the aerial base - had to carefully trim 2mm or so off with a scalpel.

Don't think the spoiler hits it now - would check but I have a courtesy car for a week.

Got my lovely car back today after a week away at the supplying dealers, 120 miles away. An intermittent fault was noticed a week after collecting it and it got worse!

Slave cylinder leaked fluid on the clutch and some of the clutch plate fins were scored.

Still, happy chappy and a new clutch and slave cylinder later, fixed under warranty

Big thanks to Ridgeway Skoda for fixing it and Skoda UK have been behind me every step of the way should there have been any issues.

Private plate and 312mm brakes to come soon.

Just spent a couple of hours starting to remove a couple of fine scratches and the swirls in the vRS :)

Best mate leant me his machine polisher and stuff he uses on the Eagle speedsters he paints...

Washed

Clayed

Washed

G3 and cutting head used on all fine scratches/marks

Menzerna and fine cutting head used on boot, rear bumper and rear quarters so far. Rest of car to do with this tomorrow.

Finishing off with a soft head and some other bottle of stuff I've not looked at yet :)

Pictures when it's done!

Car finished :)

Spent the best part of 8 hours with a machine polisher and got some great results!

Still an amateur at this and probably some marks left but not bad for a beginner using a rotary!

Looking well there!

Rotary one you Say....!!!! I have one of these and my confident enough to use it...any tips...?

The car is looking great Adam..!

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Matty - best thing with a rotary is to make sure it's always moving, don't apply too much pressure and keep the pad/polish moist/wet.

You burn through the paint when it's too hot or held in one place for too long.

Start on a spare flat panel and practise!

312's fitted - work a treat!

Should have been fitted as standard, so much more feel and stopping power. Confidence has gone up a notch.

Time for stage 1 now then !

Lol :)

Think I'm going to get it in for a health check first. I'll be in touch Pete :)

Big thanks to Ben for the kit :)
