Electric Windows not functioning properly

Featured Replies

hi, my electric windows are acting up the past few weeks.  :@

every window apart from the drivers window seems to lose power and randomly go up and down themselves, the rear right side window goes down after i switch the ignition off and when my lights are turned on you can see the light on all 3 window switches flickering.

Also when i turn my wipers off they just wont and keep going. I'm driving a 1.6 Octavia and would appreciate any suggestions you have as i am planning to sell the car and upgrade to a vrs soon  :)

*Skoda Octavia I

i think i saw a thread similar to this in the last couple of days, and a possible cause was a dying battery...

other than that, check the wiring loom going into the drivers door for damage,

as a shrot here can cause all sorts of joyous electrical issues..

Also.... welcome to Briskoda :) not many of us Irish lads knocking around!!

a technician called to the garage i work in today and said to clean the connections of the door control module as water leaks into them and causes major trouble with the locks and windows. the windows are working 100% now but still cant get the wipers to turn off think i need a new column switch cos i can hear it clicking as the wipers are running :(

Cheers mate glad to add to the group :D

get a can of cntact cleaner and spray it into the column switch area, and wriggle it around abit.

I was having trouble with my headlight witch before christmas - full beam wudnt come on when pushed forward.

did the spray job advised on here, perfect since... lot cheaper than a new stalk, so worth a shout first,

especially if our doing the other contact too...
