Skoda Lowering Springs for Rapid

Featured Replies

OK so my Rapid is definetly sitting too high and needs lowering. I want to do it right with the OEM Skoda kit for warranty/resale reasons. Anyone had this done or know what price I should be looking at? I'm just waiting to hear back from the dealer.....

Thanks all

Does an official kit exist yet? I thought the dealers had been using Eibach on the Spaceback?

Yeah I believe you are correct. Just the fact it's supplied and fitted by Skoda..... Still haven't got back to me with a price!

Really hope its affordable as it will make a big difference I think.

TBH I'm quite happy with mine in that respect. The Spaceback seems to have a bigger arch gap for some reason though?

i also have this  impression...

Totally agree. The bloody thing sits so high at the back its un-true. Eibach seems the kit to go for £200 + fitting. Waiting for a price on fitting. There is a place in Manchester (awesomegti.com) and they have a set off ST lowering springs on sale for £157.

Let me know how you get on

Skoda UK say that there is no official lowering kit for the Rapid and any other springs will void warranty.

My local VAG specialist quoted me £300 labour to fit the eibachs. I declined.

So fitting an sort of lowering kit will void the warranty all together ? Even if skoda fit them.

Seems **** poor that to me !

"The warranty will be void as the car is not designed to run on those springs and this could cause issues...."

....or something along those lines according to SUK on the phone.

It s common sense that lowering a car will destroy the engine and cause thousands of problems.... Where is my sarcasm emoticon?

Let's not forget that unless you tell them or they happen to notice your OK. So unless its completely slammed or the warranty issue requires a technician to come into direct contact with the springs you will be OK. Still a risk tho... I know a few who have had remapped cars in for warranty work with no issues...

What if you got in touch and ordered irish/ Czech Skoda lowering springs from them? Thatll then have an oem part number and get it fitted and its designed for the car. After all your manufacturer warranty is valid anywhere in Europe right?

So if fitting the Eibachs voids the warranty then why have some dealers been fitting them to the Spaceback?

I would like to see a proper factory fitted sports suspension option added to the Rapid and Spaceback, the standard 15mm Skoda drop would be ok for me. Don't know why they haven't done it yet, not even on the Greenline or Monte Carlo.

If I need the warranty I have every intention of saying the eibachs were Skoda dealer fitted as part of the initial purchase. I use a different skoda dealer to the one I bought the car from anyway.

Have you got the Eibachs fitted yet?
