What is this thing for in my armrest box

Featured Replies

Hi folks, been wondering what the heck this thing is for in my armrest? It has a kind of looped top and I can lift it just over an inch, but no idea why it's there, anybody know? Apologies it's a new car (to me).

Many thanks

When lifted, it lets in cooled air to the jumbo box when the aircon is on. Good for keeping your beer cool as you drive!!

Opens and closes a vent to allow air con to flow into it, or not.

It allows chilled air in when the air con is on to create a cool box - stops your chocolate melting   :sun:

Not sure if it works the other way when the heating is on.

Clever Skoda have nicked the bloody ON tab idea from the MkI Fabia. Everyone who owns a MkI Fabia knows these hidden tabs are for the rocket launchers

I believe thats the Jumbo Box, optional extra in the pre-f/l vRS

Your f/l vRS estate would've had the same :)

Presume you didn't get a manual with your car then?

That's a Yeti isn't it?

Sarge.

That handbrake is high!!

You'll maybe have a round knurled adjustable vent in the glovebox to do the same.

I do but the hose had come undone necessitating glovebox removal to reconnect it.

Guys thanks very much.... Yes the picture was off the Web & well spotted a Yeti. My previous mk2 estate came without an armrest.

Many thanks all...

Ejector seat for passenger side. Hidden option.

Brilliant!!! Had my car over a year and never noticed this bit........hangs head in shame!
