Car park incident. Two in five days...

Featured Replies

Put a tow bar on the back, works wonders in making people leave a bigger gap, although saying that the day after fitting it, it claimed a front bumper and radiator of a Honda crv who was attempting to touch Park lol

I hear what you are saying, but I don't think that it would have protected the corners in either of these situations.

As the bumper is coming off, I had planned to fit a detachable tow bar. But not to leave it attached all the time...

FFS ! Have got a piece of paper in the windscreen ? " kick me! "

I think I must have!

Either that or my car has suddenly become a magnet for every useless driver in Hereford who is too dishonest to leave a courtesy note...

I think you need to park as far away from entrances as possible and like me take 2 spaces :) ( await to be shot down )

This one was along a one way road that is wide enough for two buses.

And the space behind me was big enough for two cars with no issue (although there obviously was).

Bloody shocking behaviour !

It's likely that there was CCTV coverage as it was outside the council chambers in Hereford.

But is it really worth the hassle of chasing down TWO people from two incidents in 4 days?

Maybe a visit to the police is in order now...

Fair enough. I know the bumper springs back quite well on the corners, but the damage on her car looks to be too high to match the scrapes on my car.

Ref the first one, the damage on pic of the 206 being higher wouldn't concern me and more make me think that ir supports the drivers poor standards and make me wonder what else she has rammed! The pic is not high enough quality to see the sort of damage I might expect to see for this.

Ref second incident, if entire bumper needs resprayed for first one and liability is established................................. C'est la vie, could just make it good timing.

If I pursue the first one (Peugeot) I have ONE independent witness to back up my claim.

However, my insurance company would want an independent analysis of both vehicles and then they'd spot the newer damage and an older on that I inflicted as well.

Should I be concerned about their thoughts on MY driving?

TBH, it'll cost you £300 to get the bumper warmed up, reshaped, polished up and painted.

Sad as it is, I'd just go to a decent bodyshop yourself for that amount.

That plus if you do get proof, then take the other people to the cleaners at court.
