Dashboard blue highbeam indicatorlight missing.

Featured Replies

Suddenly my dashboard indicator light for the highbeam disappeared.. All stalk/lightsfunctions is normal, just the blue indicator is missing. Sometimes it may glow very dim. When I switch my highbeams off, the left/right dashindicators flashes very dim, too. Same happens regardless if i push the stalk towards the dash, or myself. Might be the stalk, but it seems to function normally..

I've got no clue..

Anyone else had this problem, or maybe know what could be wrong?

might be some cluster connections corroded? do a search for it and you'll find some guides on checking it out.

Can't find any corrosion on the cluster connections. Took out the cluster today, and resoldered a bunch of components on the circuitboard, but no difference. Drowned the stalk mechanism with oxide cleaner now, waiting for everything to evaporate before testing again. Should also mention that I have wired my highbeams with a relay, but that's two years ago. Had no problems until now..

Took out the relay now, and made all connections as they were from the factory, and the slight flash from the left/right dashindicators, when switching of the highbeam, disappeared, så it had to be something with the relay connection. Still no blue highbeam indicator tough... Maybe the led in the cluster is broken, gonna check that tomorrow.

Couldn't wait, so i dismantled the instrument cluster, and measured the voltage to the highbeam indicator led, and it gets power when i turn on the highbeam, so it seem that the led itself, is broken. Does anybody know where to get surface mounted led's?
