Eibach pro springs 1.9tdi se

Featured Replies

Hi guys/girls. I have the white 09 octavia estate. 1.9tdi. Se. Long story short sold me Vespa so finally got cash to spend, booked in for remap nxt week and will be buying 18 inch black alloys.

My problem is the money will have run out near enough after tyres, and having the se tdi even on 18's it will still look like a tractor on stilts!

So for money, and only money reasons i will look at fitting the eibach pro springs.

Will it make my se look better?

Will I need to buy anything else? There always seems to be a hidden extra that I need to buy to get them fitted! I'm lucky like that!

Cheers

im running the eibach pro cargo kit and it simply replaced the oem springs BUT it keeps the oem ride height.

When you lower it you shouldnt need to replace anything else though

Thanks. Will the eibach pro's lower my height? It says 30mm on the box!

Does it do what it says on the tin!

The cargo kit ive got does exactly what it says. It can take 200kg+ in the boot and barely move (used in the police dog vans).

So id say it will drop by 30mm if thats what it says

Cool, thanks Ryan.

The h&r kit will lower further

How much? H&r kit? All in?

You may have issues with worn bump stops and bearings on the front shock worth replacing as they have to be stripped when changing the springs , the rear bump stops/dirt covers on the rear shocks are very common to be worn out but you don't need to strip these as you only need to realese the bottom shock bolt to drop the springs , the new springs may kill the old shocks depending how old they are I would test the stroke of all four shocks for peace of mind and replace at a later date if some have no rebound and funds are a problem ,

the above is only the case if lowering the car.

If you are going for a kit which doesnt adjust the ride height then you shouldnt have any issues.

For those who are interested the cargo kit not only allows more weight in the car before the suspension saggs but also improves the handling. Only issue is the front might look a tiny bit higher than oem

Hi Willy0329, thanks, great info. Exactly what I was looking for. The car has 70000 miles on her with original shocks so I'm now just thinking it would make sense to just save up and get shocks and springs all new at same time. Grrr I hate waiting!!

It's a shame as the ride is great, but I cannot put up with the tractor look!

H&R kit seems to be popular?

Any info on this? Don't want to go stupid low and don't want it rock hard, and I am not interested at all in going round corners at 120mph! (I'm getting on you no!)

I had a witec  non adjustable shock and spring kit on my old mk1 vrs it lowerd it about 30mm all round and gave the same spring rates as standard vrs springs just slightly lower I got bored of this after a while as it didn't really look like it was lowerd, but it was a good kit I sold that vrs to get a vrs estate and bought a witec hight adjustable coilover kit second hand from this site and droped the vrs to about 50mm alround this gave the car the look I always wanted .

the choice you have is fixed hight shocks and springs or adjustable hight coilovers you can have the ride hight you want .

ap do both kits and have very good prices and are made by kw as a budget option , witec also made by kw seem to have changed there name to st suspensions in my new deemon tweeks catolge these are more expensive than ap but cheaper than the kw branded stuff .

Nice one, ill have a look at both ap and st then. Many many thanks.

On demon tweaks there, I fancy the koni set with h&r springs. Looks good and well priced :)

ryan-re I can't find anywhere that sells the kit you're referring to.

Could you point me in the direction of where you got them from? They sound exactly what I am looking for. I think I may have a broken front spring and so am looking at alternatives. I don't want to lower it, as it already catches on some of our local speed humps when fully loaded. I hate to think how a VRs would fair over them.

Google. Koni STR.T suspension. Should come up demon tweeks. Then just choose your model.

Links? On iPhone so not sure how to link it here yet. Sorry

get onto the eibach uk website and send a question into them about it. I ended up in contact the with the uk aftermarket sales manager

Cheers ryan, but I can't find a site for them, only re-seller's sites.

I'll have another look.
