HELP! OCTY VRS MK1 Wont start After Rebuild

Featured Replies

My old petrol Cordy did the same thing to me... parked up for a few busy weeks meant the battery died,

new battery - no go, new Coil packs - no go, new plugs - no go.

getting fuel, getting a spark... after 2 days with a mechanic the cause of death (yep....)

was deemed to be a broken tooth on a pulley cog.... which through the timing out so much to kill it.

had the choice between a grand in labour and parts to strip the engine and confirm and fix it,

or a grand for a new engine. I sold the car to the mechanic as engine less,

and bought my diesel Octy instead... the Cordy wasnt worth the effort

Yes all is on correctly, driving me potty now going to ring my mechanic and see if he can shed any more light

Just asking because ive seen people do it wrong and set the timing with piston one at BDC and not TDC.
