The Car Basically Has Fuel Coming Through Fuel Pump Primes & Works

We Get Fuel To the Bores,

There is Spark Aswel"

Sounds like the car doesnt even attempt to start

It doesn't go DuDuDuDuDu it goes Duuuuuuuuuu

Yes iv tried the starter motor still no joy

The engine turns over, But it doesn't fire up Tried Compression etc

I have checked everythink to a T

Driving Me Mad Now & Few people Told Me To Pop On Here And Get Some Advice

So any help Would be Great!

So what is VCDS/Vagcom telling you?

  • Author

Been On 2 Different VAGCOM Both Saying All Is Ok!

Also been On My Mappers Diagnostics & That Reads all Ok Too.. hence why I'm baffled

Fuel lines arse backwards ??

You have fuel and a spark? Is the timing belt on correctly?

  • Author

All Fuel Lines Are On As They Should Be I Have Another VRS so can check how things route on that and everythink is as it should be, yes belt is all on ok.. the engine turns over, but it doesn't sound like it wants to fire, bit half hearted and to be honest it should turn over like DuDuDuDuDu but it doesn't it is more like DUUUUUUUUUU just has no intention of firing up

imobiliser?

  • Author

Could The Immobiliser Be On Due To The Battery Being Off For a Month?! No Dash Light for Immobiliser tho?!

is fuel actually coming out of injectors?

is fuel actually coming out of injectors?

Yes mate' Can Remove Spark Plugs & Bore Has Fuel in' Plugs are Wet Etc

A VAG 1.8T that shows no fault codes in VCDS, has fuel & a spark, but won't start is a rare thing indeed. :wall: .

There are some engine sensors that don't throw a code unless there's a short to ground or become intermittent. Coolant temp sensor & MAF in particular, not sure if the crank & cam sensors are the same in that regard. CTS & MAF's don't usually stop the engine from starting if they're goosed but crank & cam sensors probably would. It may be worth going into VCDS engine measuring blocks & looking to see if there's anything odd going on when you crank the engine.

Even if the imobilliser has lost sync with the key the engine normally run for a few seconds, then shuts down, & the key symbol on the dash should illuminate.

So has this just happened since you replaced the battery.?

The Battery has been Changed as The Old One Went On My Other One In The Mean Time'.. But Even With That Battery on the Car It Still Wont Fire'

Like I said' It Does Turn Over' Just Doesnt Sound Quite Like Its trying To Fire'...

We Get Spark & Fuel'... The Engine Turns Over... But Like I Said Doesnt Sound Like Its Trying To Fire Up' Just Sounds Like Its Turning The Engine Over! But With No Apparent Effect

There Is No Immobilizer Signs On The Dash At All' & As You Say Even If It Was That' Itl Atleast Fire Up But Then Conk Out

All Fuses Have Been Checked To Just To See If Any Were Fried... By Any Chance is there Any Relays That Could Of Gone Pop In The Process Of Putting It All back Together... I know Itl Sound Rare'.. But Im Good To Try Everything

Its Just Baffled Me as It Worked Perfectly Fine Before Have a Freshen Up of The Bay Etc

& People Have Said I May Of Disturbed Somethink In the Process' But I Have Literally Took Every Sensor Off And Tested Them Seperatly Just to make Sure of a Good Connection Or what ever!

To Me It Doesnt Sound Like Its Firing/Sparking At All ( Trying To ) But We Do Have Spark On Each Coil Pack As Iv Tested 1000000000000x!

Right If This Helps At All'... Not a VRS but This Is Exactly The Same Thing Its Doing!

  • Author

It Should be trying to turn over' but its not! & The Vid Shows this .. i get the same kinda noise'.. i did think its the starter at first so i changed mine for a good working one & still no joy

The imobilliser light is on in the video that's why that car isn't starting.

Does the ECU have a revo map by any chance ???

could it be the earths missing from the chassis to the block... ?

  • Author

Under the battery Tray? Checked and there allfine

can you push it into life? Bump it and run 2nd gear etc... eliminates the starter engine question. But i think you crank pulley/ timing is way out

What about some ezee start in the air intake

Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Left mine for a month and it wouldn't start - ended up a corroded wire by the ecu...

You have fuel and a spark? Is the timing belt on correctly?

What he said^^

  • Author

Yes all is on correctly, driving me potty now going to ring my mechanic and see if he can shed any more light
