Set of detailing brushes, its child's play !

Featured Replies

Was browsing on DW recently and seen people were talking about a set of four children's stencil brushes that they are using for some small detailing jobs on there cars. So liking a bargain i ordered a set, they are actually quite good brushes, made from hog hair and about 7" long and handily enough they are colour coded, great for around badges, door shuts, grills and other fiddly jobs so for £3.95 a set you cant really go wrong. I am sure some of the detailing snobs will look down there noses at these but give them a go first and if your not happy you've only spent £3.95.

Why not, £4. Never thought I needed any but £4. Bought.

Just need to find out what to clean with em now!

Put some paper tape (or gaffer tape etc) around the plastic ends, saves the odd scratch on the paintwork.

And no such thing as a detailing snob, just snobs in general.

I will use (nearly) anything as long as it works, not just because it's in the "in crowd", but because it works.

When you get 4 (5 in the envy sets) that means 1: Wheels, 2: Edges, badges (general outside) 3: Interior, 4: tickling people.

I've just 'liberated' a brand new brush that looks exactly like some of the detailing brushes from a place I work.

It's labelled as being for varnishing horses toenails (or something along those lines).

No metal, only plastic.

Shall purchase!

Hoof Oil Brush.

As above, tape up.

Wrap it up, before you brush it up!

That's the ones.

Will do the tape thingy. Thanks.

Finally used a brush today.

Bought them as they were cheap and recommended, didn't know what I would use them for!

But today cleaning the dash with a microfiber noticed all the nooks and crannies with dust in....boom!

And the boot seal was full of sand and dust....boom!

So cheers for the recommendation.

And I'm trying not to get addicted to this........

Resistance is futile

Colour coding is ideal for detailing!!!

...and the colour coding is...?

...your personal choice really - some suggestions earlier in the thread!  :giggle:

Added to my Detailing bag

TBH Colour coding doesn't really bother me...Will probably use them for internal dust removal

Indeed - each to there own. I'll probably select colours to segregate:-

1-Exterior APC

2-Interior APC

3-Interior dry/duster/vents

4-Wax duster for seems, etc (Maybe trim this one a bit shorter on the bristles)

...or something like that.

Kit bag is getting full....
