Official octavia vrs stock boost pressure please

Featured Replies

Can anyone give a definate answer for clarification as ive searched and there seems to be multiple answers...

basically I want to know so I can put the correct spring in the forge 008

I know its either green or yellow spring but as the green is only rated to 5-15 psi would inserting a shim make it cover the correct boost range?

And yellow is from 15-23 psi but if the boost range starts below that and you lift off before 15 psi surely it wont open the dv valve and damage the turbo?

for stock you;ll want the green in. As for the exact levels I see some people quoting 8.5, some 9.5 and other's 10 and I haven't seen an actual definitive answer from an official skoda technical sheet yet- would be good to know the actual value like

Just slap an OEM one on.  I chucked my shiny one away.  More hassle than theyre worth.

The spring doesn't depend on what boost pressure you run, it's only there to help the valve shut. I use a yellow spring with a well-serviced 007P on standard boost and its fine.

Mankee- the spring clamps the piston shut against the level of boost- too soft and the piston will lift when closed (depending on boost), too hard and it won't open properly when required- thats why you have different springs, each clamps pre defined levels of boost but still allows the piston to open again. If it's too hard you get horrible squeel or stutter as the the piston struggles to open and if too soft the valve leaks boost back to the intake

Or have I got it the other way round, looooong day
