No more ASDA PAYG: Next best mobile PAYG?

My mum s on Asda PAYG.

At the time (many moons ago),

thy were the cheapest per min.

Asda is now leaving the mobile sector.

I need to find my mum a new operator.

Mum only uses it very ocassionally.

Say a 10mins per month.

Or a £10 top up will last her a year!

Where should she go?

I think the 3 3-2-1 plan (3p call, 2p text, 1p mb) is quite good:

Ovivo, works great no monthly bills and piggybacks on the Vodafone network. Have been using it for ages never paid a penny apart from first purchase of sim.

Don't forget to port your number across, you get £3 credit if you do

By the looks of it you add credit by taking part in special offers for which a credit is applied to your account. The service is also advertising funded, so I expect you'll receive text messages and also if you browse the web they will insert adverts into web pages.

I'd just get the three sim, been with them for a year now with no issue. Plus 4G is standard and costs no extra.

I recommend Giff gaff I use with my wife £10 and 3 months calling and sending text messages to each other for free

Not bother about text nor 4G.

My mum uses non-smart phone.

All she needs is abled to call at emergencies - Thats all.

3p / min on 3 just sounds great.

But can't find costs for OVIVO once initial £15 credit runs out :-(

Forget about the initial credit as your mum will get her account topped up EVERY MONTH for FREE!

In my eyes that's better than 3p per min.

Unless they have changed, doesn't credit on 3 expire at the end of each month?  It certainly used to.

Free forever up to 250 mins a month. If you don't surf the net with the free data allowance you do not receive the ads that they throw at you now and again. It works a treat, Pay once then you have an free allowance of 250 mins a month.

Cant do better than that!!!
