Blackline stubby aerial

Featured Replies

I want a stubby aerial for my Blacline sharkfin/aerial combi. I bought one off ebay (VW polo type 80mm long) but it had 5mm thread. Just to be awkward the thread on the Blackline on is 6mm.

Any suggestions as I just keep finding 5mm thread ones and I want it to look OEM, the current 200mm one is just too long.

Like this but needs 6mm thread:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Short-Stubby-Aerial-Fits-Mazda-3-5-6-MX5-Eunos-/251196179641?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7c7584b9

That's odd, my 61 plate se+ has an amundsen sat nav, the aerial is most definitely M5 thread, it is the shark fin type GPS receiver.

I got a 60mm long genuine Citroen one off eBay, it fits perfectly. I got it as the standard aerial is too long to allow my roof box to be fitted as far back as I would like.

The reception is fine.

Unusual of VAG to change a part fitted across their range?

My old VRs normal aerial mount was 5mm hence why I bought the 5mm stubby, defo 6mm as it just slopped around in the hole (fitted my mates Polo no problem) and I don't want one of those awful black aluminium ones.

Ouch indeed! Just shows how daft mini owners are!

7 quid not a lot of money, there is this rubber one, ignore the crap sales patter, 16v look, special steel etc ......

Thanks.

Probably go with the short aluminium one again £17 is far too much money especially if it gets nicked.

Sound, I hadn't give aesthetics much of a thought over the practicality of getting roof box on. That said, it does look no end better than the standard 200mm job.

I was pleased reception hasn't deteriorated with the 60mm Citroen aerial, that said East Anglia isn't exactly the most mountainous of areas :-)
