Ecu question

Featured Replies

Hi all any help would be much appreciated. It would seem my ecu has packed up. Now i have a couple of options. The first and favoured one is an audi s3 ecu that i have. Can it be coded to my car?? Also i can get hold of an ecu from an octy 4x4? Same engine. I take it it wont be a problem coding that one in.

There are a few ecu interchanges you can make but it is quite limited, some are wired differently too.

what's your engine code?

Mine and the 4x4 is an auq and the audi is apy. Are the 4x4's 180bhp?

A standard 4x4 is 150.

The S3 ecu won't work correctly on your car - not hardware, but wrong software for your engine

However, I guess the ecu could be overwritten with a stage 1 map

Might be worth giving someone like shark a ring

Otherwise you'll need an ecu with the right software map for a 180bhp engine

Guess it would be possible to overwrite the S3 ecu with oem 180hp software too

No problem. Thanks very much. I might be better off buying 1 off ebay fir the car and just coding it in.
