Featured Replies

Hello there, my rear brakes are binding badly, the discs are hardly worn but are scored. the pads look fine. the guide pin on one my calipers is siezed.

I am asking to see if the vrs mk 1 rear disc brakes are the sameas a golf mk 4? any information chaps? as id just like to get a rough idea of how much it will be to buy new parts before i start taking parts apart.

cheers chaps

Hi there,

You can buy repair kits for the rear break calipers. I just did, waiting for the weekend to come so i can start fiting them.

I bought these kits: FTE RKS0098 and BOSCH F1987470040.

They are not expensive and you can get away without replacing the caliper.

For reference you can buy new discs pads and calipers (green) on ebay as a package for 176.
